A table lamp might stand out if it provides you with clear glowing light while in the company of a good book, magazine, laptop or newspaper.

It’s no coincidence that a man with such a powerful and diverse intellect as Poul Henningsen devoted his talents to enlightening us.

The mathematical-sounding name of this lamp is no coincidence either. The light emanates from the centre of the so-called logarithmic, spiral-shaped lamp whose elegant interaction with the glass surface of the PH 3/2 provides wonderfully clear, pleasant light for the reader. Whether for reading or decoration, the lamp provides you with perfect lighting.

Poul Henningsen (1894–1967)

Designer, author, architect and critic, Poul Henningsen was born into an intellectual and upper class family in Denmark, 1894. Famed for his innovative lighting design, Henningsen was also one of the leading cultural figures in Denmark between both World Wars.

Inspired by nature and form, Henningsen’s design style was both unique and provocative. He didn’t believe in the mundane and obvious, once stating, ”All political art is bad – all good art is political.”
Celebrated worldwide, Poul Henningsen’s work remains within several notable 20th-century design collections, including that of the Metropolitan Museum in New York City.

Henningsen was also given the prestigious honour of designing a piece for Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen.
